Promotional products for retirement communities and senior living

A retirement community or senior living facility is a service business with three buyer audiences: the resident, the resident's family who chose the community, and the staff who runs the operations. The merchandise that works supports all three. Welcome kits for new residents, family-event giveaways at parents-day and holiday events, and staff apparel that signals professionalism.

What retirement communities order

Resident welcome kits: a branded gift bag handed to a new resident on move-in day. Custom packaging with a welcome card, branded mug, large-print notebook, useful items for the new apartment.

Family-event swag: items handed out at family days, holiday events, and resident-celebration events. Custom mugs, tote bags, small keepsakes.

Staff apparel: polo shirts and scrubs for caregivers, embroidered jackets for activities staff, custom name badges. Annual orders.

Community-event giveaways: branded items for community-wide events the facility hosts (5K runs for memory care awareness, holiday fundraisers, open houses for prospective residents and families).

What works specifically here

Large-print branding. A 60-pt logo on a mug is more useful than a 20-pt logo because the resident can see it. Same for any printed materials.

High-grip, easy-grip drinkware. Avoid items with small handles or slick finishes that are difficult to grip.

Item weight. Heavy mugs, heavy tote bags - skip them. The user is a resident, not a 30-year-old commuter.

How to set the account up

The community director is the buyer at single-facility communities; the regional operations director at multi-facility groups. Build a multi-facility portal with each community's preferred items locked. Net-30 is standard for the bigger groups.

A retirement community is a multi-audience customer with specific usability requirements. Match the merchandise to the resident's actual use, hit the welcome-kit SKU, and the community becomes a steady-volume account.
