Preview embroidery files - DST, EXP - in your browser

Drop in a .dst or .exp file and see your design rendered in the browser - color blocks, stitch path, dimensions, total run length, and an estimated runtime. Use it to sanity-check a digitized file before sending to the supplier or to bid a job from an existing pattern. Free with no login.

See your DST before it goes to the machine

Drop in a Tajima .dst or Melco .exp file and we render the design in your browser - stitch path, color blocks, dimensions, runtime estimate. The file stays on our server only long enough to parse; we do not keep a copy.

What you get back

  • Visual stitch render - the actual stitch path, with each color block in a different color so you can see the order the machine runs the design.
  • Stitch count - the number that drives embroidery pricing. Most suppliers price in 1,000-stitch tiers above a base.
  • Color block count - how many threads the machine has to load. Most production machines max out around 12-15.
  • Dimensions in mm + inches - the actual stitched bounding box (different from the file's metadata claim, which can be wrong).
  • Runtime estimate - heuristic based on 750 stitches/min industrial speed plus color-change overhead. Use as a ballpark for production scheduling.

What's a good stitch count for promo embroidery?

  • Simple monogram or text: 4,000 - 8,000 stitches.
  • Standard left-chest logo: 6,000 - 12,000 stitches.
  • Detailed multi-color logo: 12,000 - 20,000 stitches.
  • Jacket back / large patch: 30,000 - 60,000+ stitches.

Format support

Supported formats: Tajima DST, Melco EXP, Brother PES. PES support covers the typical Brother-saved files; if you have an unusual cross-converted PES that doesn't parse cleanly, re-export as DST - it's the de-facto industry interchange format.
