The art file checker that catches bad files first
A bad art file is the most common reason a promo order goes back into the queue. Low-res photos used as logos. RGB files for screen prints that need CMYK or spot. JPEGs sent for embroidery. Each rejection is a day of delay, an awkward customer email, and sometimes a missed in-hands date. The fix is to check the file the moment it lands.
What the checker actually looks at
It opens the file (DST, AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG, PSD) and reports the format, the resolution, the color mode (RGB, CMYK, spot), the embedded fonts, the layer count, the file size, and whether it contains vector or raster art. It flags issues with severity: hard fails (PNG for embroidery), warnings (raster used for screen print), and informational notes (oversized canvas).
When to run it
On every art file the customer uploads. The customer sees the result immediately in their portal. They see what is wrong in plain language ("This is a JPEG. Embroidery needs a vector or DST file.") and can fix it before you spend an hour producing a proof from bad source.
The checker is also available as a standalone tool at /art-checker, which is a popular bookmark for non-customers. It is one of the highest-traffic public surfaces on the site for distributors who use it as a quick gut-check before committing to a customer file.
What it does not do
It does not redraw bad art. It does not vectorize a raster on its own. It does not guess at colors. Those jobs route to AI vectorization (one button), AI image upscale (one button), or to External Art Services (a paid order to a real human designer). The checker is the fast pre-flight; the fixers are the next step.
