Branded merch for construction companies

A construction company is the opposite of the SaaS swag customer. They want apparel that survives a job site, hi-vis that meets safety class requirements, and decoration that does not peel after thirty washes. Get the specs right and the orders are large, repeating, and unbothered by margin pressure.

Hi-vis and safety class

Class 2 hi-vis vests for highway-adjacent work, Class 3 for night work or high-speed-traffic exposure. Both are ANSI-rated. The supplier needs to certify the rating; do not assume a yellow vest is Class 2. Quality suppliers for hi-vis: ML Kishigo, Radians, ERB. A misclassified hi-vis is a lawsuit waiting; verify before you sell.

What survives a job site

Carhartt and Dickies branded apparel beat fast-fashion blanks every time. Embroidery beats screen print on heavy outerwear. Hard-hat stickers in vinyl with a UV-resistant ink. Insulated mugs from Yeti or RTIC for the truck cup-holder. Avoid anything that is not at least 8 oz fabric weight on outerwear.

How a construction company orders

In bulk, twice a year (spring start-of-season, fall outerwear). One-off crew shirts for new hires monthly. Site-specific orders for major projects (a new commercial build will order 30 jackets with the project address embroidered on the back). Foreman uniforms separate from crew uniforms.

Construction is a specs-and-suppliers game. Get the safety class right, use blanks that survive heavy use, and the customer will reorder twice a year for a decade.
